Membership/Marketing Administrative Coordinator

Department: Development
Reports To: Director of Development
Appointment: Full time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Membership/Marketing Administrative Coordinator is an integral part of The Haggin Museum’s fundraising and audience development team. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the museum’s membership programs along with assisting in the development and implementation of new initiatives which will increase museum visitors and membership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this position include:
  • Managing and coordinating the museum’s membership program including sending monthly membership renewal notices and acknowledgements;
  • Working with the membership database, providing customer service to members and serving as the liaison between the museum and community
  • Attending and promoting museum membership at both museum functions and off-site events (evenings and weekends);
  • Assisting with special events including exhibit openings and member receptions;
  • Providing administrative support for the Development Department for membership and marketing materials;
  • Developing and initiating new marketing outreach programs to increase the number of museum visitors;
  • Working with other museum departments to increase the visibility of The Haggin Museum in our region. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS

Desirable candidates for this position will possess a combination of the following:

  • Strong computer and database skills, preferable with Blackbaud or similar fundraising software;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other desktop design and publication software;
  • Demonstrated organizational and follow through skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail;
  • Experience working effectively with the public and volunteers;
  • Excellent social and interactive skills;
  • Ability to relate in a positive manner with all cultures and socio-economic audiences;
  • Interest and knowledge of art and history relevant to the museum;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, community groups;
  • Effectiveness working independently;
  • Meet established deadlines while handling concurrent tasks;
  • Physical ability to set-up tables and booths for special events.

MININIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  B.A./B.S. preferred.

Experience:  Candidates for this job should have professional administrative experience including: computer proficiency, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and dealing with the general public, donors and volunteers.

COMPENSATION

Part of a 3 year grant
Range $23,000 to $28,000 annually, commensurate with experience
