Poets and those who enjoy poetry are invited to the next Elements event. This evening of poetry and music will be hosted by Stockton’s Jean-Claude Crhi, who has been hosting a poetry slam and live entertainment show for the past three years at the Sutter Street Cafe, Caffeine Den, and Latte Lounge Cafe.

Crhi promises "a night of fun: poetry, soul music, and talented stars – all of them with a signature from our beautiful Stockton."

Live drumming and percussion will set the stage at 7 p.m. for some of Stockton’s most talented poets and musicians, including Franklin High School Counselor Jimi Choice, who will read a selection of her poems; Percussionist Manny Moreno, who will be joined by Tania on the Indian flute; Angel Gonzales, who will perform his lyrical songs with acoustic guitar; and Rebecca Goldsmith, who will also perform her verses with guitar.

Other poets participating in this special event include Marie Ross, Nikki Quismondo, and Gail White. The microphone will also be open for poets in the audience to read their works. Those who would like to arrange ahead of time to read their poetry should contact Lara San Pedro at (209) 940-6321 or lsanpedro@hagginmuseum.org.

All are welcome to participate in or simply enjoy this spontaneous evening of spoken word. Parents will want to note, however, that this evening of uncensored poetry is not meant for young children.

Admission is $5 per person at the door. Snacks will be provided and drinks will be for sale. For more information, contact Lara San Pedro at (209) 940-6321 or lsanpedro@hagginmuseum.org.
