Free to museum members; free to the public with regular admission: $5 adults; $2.50 youth 10-17 and seniors; children under 10 free with adults.

Mummy Day 1997Ever since it arrived in 1944, the mummy has been one of The Haggin Museum's most popular items on display, especially among children. Families with children ages five and older will get a chance to learn more about it at this special event on Saturday, Feb. 11, 1:30-4 p.m.

Arts and crafts projects inspired by the mummy will be located throughout the museum, where children will learn about ancient Egyptian culture, practice wrapping a mummy, try writing with hieroglyphics, and much more. A reading corner will feature children's stories about mummies and ancient Egypt.

Admission is free for children under 10 when accompanied by an adult. Adult admission is $5; admission for youth ages 10-17 and seniors ages 65 and older is $2.50 and museum members are admitted free.

Seating at the arts and crafts stations will be on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information contact Curator of Education Susan Benedetti at (209) 940-6315 or sbenedetti@hagginmuseum.org.
