Seaport Woodwind Quintet

The Seaport Woodwind Quintet presents “Dancing with the Winds – The Rhythm, The Beat, The Movement of The Feet,” a celebration of the evolution of music and dance around the world, especially from those cultures found here in Stockton.
Featured dancer Valerie Gnassounou-Bynoe, Instructor of Dance and Director of the Dance Department at San Joaquin Delta College, will present the tango, waltz, jig, polka, swing and even hip hop!
The Seaport Woodwind Quintet is an established chamber music ensemble in Stockton, with Barbara Maters (flute), Becky Secor (oboe), Beth Sanders (clarinet), Ruth Brittin (horn), and Marie Mielbrecht (bassoon). The quintet is joined by percussionist Bob Stover.
The performers are all professional musicians and local educators who represent Stockton’s educational institutions: Stockton, Lincoln, and Lodi Unified School Districts, San Joaquin Delta College and University of the Pacific. The ensemble has performed for more than 20 years.
Admission to the museum for this event is $5 for adults 18 and up; $2.50 for youth ages 10-17, students with a valid I.D., and seniors 65 and older.
