2008 Summer Art Workshop
Printmaking
Tuesday-Friday, July 8-18
Tuesday-Friday, July 22-August 1
$40 for children of museum members
$50 for children of non-members

Audubon's Douglass SquirrelThis summer our workshop will explore different printmaking techniques: styrofoam, wood, linoleum block printing, chop marks, collagraphs and monoprints.

Our inspiration will be the special exhibition of Audubon prints of North American Mammals and the beasties in the museum's permanent collection.

The workshops are designed for children ages 5-7 and 8-10. Younger children meet in the morning from 10:30 a.m.-Noon and the older ones from 2-4 p.m. We will attempt to accommodate siblings or family members.

The first session will be held Tuesday-Friday, July 10-20 and the second will be held Tuesday-Friday, July 24-Aug. 3. You may enroll in either or both of the sessions, as projects and material covered in each workshop will be different. The cost for each session will be $40 for children of museum members and $50 for children of non-members.

Both sessions will be taught by Curator of Education Lisa Cooperman, an experienced artist and art educator. Cooperman has had extensive experience teaching art to children, including classes at her own studio, programs for the University of the Pacific Family Camp, and teaching some of the museum's Art Adventures workshops. She has judged several student art work exhibitions, including the 75th McKee Student Art Exhibition.
