Join us for our eighth annual Tarde de Flor y Canto (an afternoon of flower and song) celebrating the beauty and richness of Mexican and indigenous culture through poetry, music and dance.
The phrase Flor Y Canto (Flower and Song) is a rough Spanish translation for what the Aztecs referred to as art and poetry—an apt comparison to the pleasure the arts bring into our lives.
This year’s event is again hosted by Richard Rios, retired educator, artist, poet and musician, and features the talents of individuals from the Stockton area. “We don’t have to look outside of the doors of our own community for creative talent,” Rios says.
Admission to the museum for this event is $5 for adults 18 and up; $2.50 for youth ages 10-17, students with a valid I.D., and seniors 65 and older. Museum members and children under 10 accompanied by an adult are free. For disabled access, please call the museum ahead of time at (209) 940-6300 or 940-6317.
