One of the focal points of the current Artistas del Valle exhibition is an ofrenda, or altar, on display in the Hull Gallery commemorating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). On Saturday, Oct. 30, 7-9 p.m., artistas Rodolfo Garcia, Raoul Mora and others will host a special program on this centuries-old Mexican tradition that is regaining popularity among Mexican Americans. Highlights of this free event will include a video followed by a discussion that will help explain the purpose and symbolism of this commemoration.
